    Walk the streets of Southampton old town, to explore the city's hidden history, visiting medieval walls and medieval vaults. Trace the history from Roman port, to the times of the Normans who built the city's castle, and on to the years of Southampton as an elegant spa town, and hear about the city's pivotal role in WWII, along with stories of famous ships, including the 1620 Pilgrim Fathers’ Mayflower and that of the tragic Titanic, and tales of Southampton’s famous residents, such as novelist Jane Austen.

    Southampton's Second World War Story

    Walk the streets of the old town to discover Southampton’s vital WWII role. Hear about the city as a military port, learn about the wartime industry – from building warships to the story of the iconic Spitfire fighter aeroplane – while discovering the devastating effects of the Blitz. Experience what life was like for those living in Southampton – including visits to some of the medieval vaults turned air raid shelter – while hearing about the arrival of the impact of the Americans to the city.

    Christmas in Southampton

    On the 90-minute guided walk through the streets of old town Southampton, you'll hear the stories of Christmas past in the city. We'll explore the western walls and medieval vaults, recounting tales of yesteryear, referencing historical characters, events and songs and with plenty of Christmas cracker jokes. We'll end with refreshments - mulled wine, sausage rolls and mince pies – in the historic 14th Century Westgate.
